Despacito is a song from 2017 made by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It was the most streamed and downloaded song in the world within six months. It was a combination of reggaeton and pop that not only drew attention to Latin music but also reggaeton. Billboard's Top 100 included four mostly Spanish tracks in 2016 and two songs in 2015. In 2017, during the peak of the popularity of Despacito, 19 tracks mainly in Spanish have made it into the Billboard Top 100. By 2020 the number will increase to 41 tracks within this genre. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 in a bilingual version. Then, various artistes collaborated with Reggaeton's biggest stars including Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma with Medellin 2019. Some reggaeton artists lamented the trend towards mainstream music in 2020. A new group, Rauw Alejandro wanted to maintain the growth and evolution of reggaeton.
