Scarlett Johansson - American Actress and singer (born in New York City on 22 November 1984) The versatility of her work as an actress has brought the world awe in everything from the dramas of the past to suspenseful films and adventure. Johansson was raised within New York City as the daughter an architect and a production company. She and her twin brother Hunter were the youngest of four siblings. In her early years, she began performing. At the age of 7, she had already auditioned for commercials in a variety of different ways. Following a short period her studies began at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. In the years following there was a Professional Children's School was opened in Manhattan. When she was eight years old, Johansson appeared alongside Ethan Hawke as Sophistry in an Off-Broadway musical. And at age nine her debut film was Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson made her debut as a character in Just Cause, but she first made an appearance in Manny & Lo, a film about siblings left behind by their parents who flee. She next earned praise for her performance in the film as a teen who had a life-threatening accident The Horse Whisperer (1998) and gained more attention in the role of a sarcastic teen who is a solitary Rebecca on the set of Ghost World (2001).
