However, their fame grew internationally, especially in Japan. Ford launched a heavy metal solo career after the group broke up in 1979. She started taking lessons in vocals. The first album she released on her own was called 'Dancing on the Edge'. Ford did not achieve anything with either of them, and she left the scene for 10 years. Her acclaimed album, "Lita" which came out in 1988 saw her come back with an explosion. Kiss Me Deadly was her biggest hit, as were the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her success didn't last long and she was absent for several years. In 1995, she released 'Black and then a couple of years after that, "Wicked Wonderland" came out, and she was back. Her most recent album "Time Capsule," launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
